No 65 - Medics on Substack #MedSubstack
It is growing hugely and ever-more newsletters are being produced which is great. However, its still quite difficult to know who to follow or to find the “best” newsletters or the most popular.
I recently asked on a forum if there was a way to easily find other doctors writing on substack and received this advice:
I wanted to know who else was on Substack because I am always keen to find new things to read, especially if it keeps me up to date or teachs me something new in an easy to understand way.
I also thought it would be cool to try and form links with other medical writers and maybe try and form a network so that it is easier for other new subscribers to find similar content.
Firstly, if you didn’t know that Substack has its own search engine, here it is:
https://substack.com/search/medicine
If you search “medicine”, hundreds of pages come up, and I can’t really work out if they are in any particular order! Personally, I think the search engine needs a bit of optimisation, or additional filters but it is a great way to start.
My top recommendations for other medical pages to follow would be:
Other newsletters that are highly ranked or have lots of subscribers include:
So, this list was made by me trawling through the list and picking out pages that had “lots of subscribers or paid subscribers” as reported by substack. So, I can’t definitely say these are the best letters on #MedSubstack but they do seem to be the most popular.
A note of caution, I have missed out some pages that were for alternative medicine, and some of the above seem to be popular as critics of covid policy - my listing them is not endorsing or refuting them, just listing what I found.
If anyone, would like to add any other highly recommended medical newsletters to the list then please feel free to leave as a comment below! Happy learning!
